Lawrence Andrea is the Washington, D.C. correspondent for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He is based in Washington, where he covers Wisconsin’s congressional delegation.
Before moving to D.C., he covered police, crime and breaking news for the Indianapolis Star.
Over the past two years, Lawrence was a fellow with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting covering the refugee situation in Greece and exploring post-asylum life for refugees in the region.
His last article for the assignment published in National Geographic in January 2022.
Lawrence graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2020 with degrees in journalism, Classical Studies and photography. He also studied Arabic. Lawrence interned for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and WisPolitics and worked with PolitiFact while in college.
His work has appeared in USA Today, Yahoo, National Geographic, PolitiFact and Balkan Insight. He has been referenced in the Associated Press, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Rolling Stone and more.
